What distinguishes you from everyone else?

N.A.bld is the only design-to-delivery platform for brands who want to operate sustainably and reduce the cashflow tied to inventory commitments. Along with a tried and tested technology, we bring a network of vetted US based manufacturers to help brands produce quick turn, high quality items. We know every product and brand is unique and has different needs so we are committed to helping our brands source the right production partner if we do not currently have a partner you can work with.

Who are you guys, anyway?

We are a group of Stiletto-strapping entrepreneurs, makers, and builders. Whether it's software or a soft good, we have over 17 years of combined experience in the tech and fashion industries. Our cofounders, Amanda and Gemma are Forbes 30 Under 30 in Retail/E-commerce, Sourcing Journal and Apparel Magazine Under 30 Award Winners, and National Retail Federation People Changing Retail's Future . We have a track record of industry leadership in apparel supply chain and on-demand retailing.

What happens if I wait?

Fashion is fast moving. The slower you are to launch a product, the greater the chance you are wasting opportunities to grow your brand, losing sales and learnings. Also, if you wait, you won’t get the complimentary tech pack upload worth $500.

What results will I actually get from this?

If you use the platform and process, you will be able to get a product to market in under 12 weeks.

Are you guys going to steal my credit card and run away?

Never :) You have the option of a free trial. You can cancel before the trial and you will not be charged. If you are unable to find a manufacturer match, we are committed to sourcing one for you and we will cover a percent of the cost to get one product made with that manufacturer.

What exactly am I signing up for? What are the features and benefits?

N.A.bld is a production software for inventory-free retailing and on-demand production. We help brands manage pre-orders and production orders and, if needed, give them access to vetted manufacturers to produce their items. The tool automates a lot of the tedious tasks of production management which helps increase speed to market, reduce costs, and democratize the fashion available to all.

How much does it cost?

$200-$6,000 annually depending on level of service with additional services available as desired.

Are there any long term contracts?

Our typical contracts are for annual commitments.

Are there any additional costs?

Beyond the subscription fees, you are responsible for paying the cost of labor for manufacturing to your production partner or supplier, the cost of materials, the cost of shipping, and for the cost of any additional services you request above and beyond those provided within your plan. Opt-in services are a separate agreement and be invoiced with your approval.

How do I present this to my team?

N.A.bld is a great way to launch a brand with less risk or lower your production cost and environmental impact. Depending on your team and stage, one of these may appeal more but we think operating a more sustainable business and making only what sells should be a part of your bottom line!

What does it integrate with?

Currently, we integrate with the Nineteenth Amendment Marketplace as a sales/e-commerce channel for brands who do not wish to host their own e-commerce store. We have a number of additional integrations in the works! If there is something you'd like to see, shoot us an email!

What exactly are you promising? What evidence do you have to back up these promises and claims?

We promise that you can launch and scale a brand and begin retailing without holding inventory. All you need to do is produce a production-ready sample (which we can help you do) and your marketing collateral. We have done this with over 2,000 brands across the world from non-designers just starting out to Disney and Project Runway.

How do I know your solution will work for me? Who hasn't it worked for?

For our solution, you must have a basic understanding of production and design to self-serve as well as the documented information about your product's specifications. If you do not have either of these things - no worries! - we can still help, but it will require more help from us through our one of our more robust plans like the Concierge Plan.

Where did you get the idea to offer this solution?

N.A.bld was born out of a realization when our cofounder, Amanda, launched her own brand that the old retail model was backwards and manufacturing hadn't modernized. After going to London Fashion Week and getting interest from buyers, her deals crumbled when she could not find reliable production partners quickly. Thus, N.A.bld was created to help brands launch leaner, stop re-inventing the wheels of production, and bring manufacturing to the cloud.

What if I am starting from scratch?

If you need help developing your product, we suggest the Concierge Plan where you get access to a dedicated Technical Designer. For more information, schedule a demo with us.

Do you have to be a trained designer?

Nope! Depending on your level of comfort, you may be able to use our self-service plans (Tech Pack, In-House, and Production Plan) all by yourself no matter what your experience. If you are getting started from scratch, we recommend you sign up for a consultation to see if the Concierge Plan is right for you.

How does bidding work?

Once your tech pack is reviewed and complete, you can submit your item to manufacturers for bidding by requesting a quote. They will respond to your quote request within 48 business hours. When you see a bid you like, you can move forward by creating a purchase order for that partner.

What if I need additional support or resources?

We have dedicated support to answer your questions via email, chat, and phone. If there are any areas you need additional help, we have discounted services and a marketplace of vetted suppliers and manufacturers to fill in where you need help.

How do I participate in the Nineteenth Amendment marketplace?

Participation in the Nineteenth Amendment marketplace is an optional benefit to any brands on our Production Plan. To become a brand in the marketplace, learn more about our requirements.

Can I use my own manufacturer or manufacturer in-house?

Yes! Contact us to onboard your manufacturer on the Production Plan or learn how you can operate on the platform if you are producing in-house with out In-House Plan :) .

What if I don't have a manufacturer and need to find one? Do you help with that?

Yep! We have a network of vetted fashion manufacturers and service providers. To see the full list of vetted suppliers, you will need to be on the Production Plan. If you are looking for a very specific manufacturer resource, please contact us.

What's the average turn around time for your manufacturers?

The turn around time depends on the supplier, product, volume, shipping distance, and the supplier but on average it is 4 to 6 weeks.

How does the material sourcing work?

Each brand is responsible for sourcing and providing their materials for production and must do so before production begins. We offer a number of material resources in our Facebook group and sourcing library - just inquire for access! If you need help finding a fabric, we offer sourcing as an additional service.

What are the minimums?

Our manufacturers have low to no-minimums (low MLQs) and do production samples. For the majority of our manufacturers and suppliers, the minimum is one unit.

Where are your manufacturers and suppliers based?

We make sure your products are manufactured ethically in vetted partner facilities across the United States. Each partner facility is pre-vetted by the our team for quality, integrity, and skill before we work with them. You can read more about our facilities within the app.

What if I can't find a manufacturer that works for me?

If you have a product that requires a special production partner, we are committed to helping source USA providers. Please contact us with your needs!

Are services included in my subscription?

Great question! Our listed Plans (Tech Pack, In-House and Production Plans) do not include services but these services like pattern making and photography can be added as needed. Amanda Curtis

Cofounder / CEO

Amanda has a degree in Advertising from Boston University and a degree in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design. She has worked as a fashion designer for DVF and Richie Rich. She head designed and managed a line that made it to the finals of London Fashion week in its first season. Amanda is Forbes 30 Under 30 for Retail and E-commerce 2016, Apparel Magazine’s 30 Under 30 2017, and the National Retail Federation’s Person Changing Retail’s Future 2018.

Gemma Sole

Gemma has a background in Venture Capital, strategic consulting at Booz Allen Hamilton, advertising at Ogilvy and Mather and SMB consulting. Gemma completed her undergraduate education at the University of Rochester. Our Story

Macy's Inventory-Free Retailing and on-demand pop up event with Nineteenth Amendment

As most stories do, it all started with some magic - in the form of a Craigslist ad. Amanda answered a posting for a fashion designer  and was soon at the helm of an emerging brand that made it all the way to London Fashion Week in its first season. However, without the sales or manufacturing to propel the brand forward, the young brand was dead before it started. Still reeling from that experience, Amanda met co-founder Gemma Sole and worked on a way fo brands to operate like lean startups - creating fashion MVPs and pre-selling those products with a network of manufacturing partners. The team worked on that concept part-time, bootstrapping the entire business with under $10k.

In 2014, Amanda and Gemma launched Nineteenth Amendment Marketplace using the N.A.bld software internally to manage production of over 500 brands and score an inventory-free retailing relationship with Macys, the largest US retailer at the time, in less than 6 months. Soon, we realized that the opportunity for inventory-free retailing and quick-turn automated production was bigger than just one marketplace. Brands all over the world could increase their cashflow and operate more sustainably by making only what sells. In 2019, we launched N.A.bld - the automated production software to enable inventory-free retailing for brands of all sizes.
